The Tavola Range

The Tavola Range was introduced in March 2009 and features old Chinese doors saved from condemned buildings. The range is a combination of rustic and industrial with a broad appeal to a variety of settings.

Each door used is given a code and that code follows the piece as it is being made. This enables the purchaser to know what the original door looked like and acts as a witness to the transformation.

The range concentrates on coffee tables, dining tables and consoles - i.e. those pieces that can feature the door as a horizontal surface.

While the pair below are earmarked to be joined and form a beautiful dining table top. The red doors at the bottom will become two

large oblong coffee tables and the red lacquer will be preserved.

Our first sample comporises a coffee table and a console. The wood is lightly sanded and the brass work checked to make sure there are no sharp edges.

These wonderfully simply pieces suit both traditionally and contemporary settings.
